Grains in their natural form are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, oils and protein. They are consumed by both humans and livestock in large quantities.

Corn/Maize

Corn is a staple feed for livestock and is widely cultivated through the world. USA produces around 40% of the world’s harvest whilst other top harvesting countries include China, Brazil, India and Argentina. Sorghum is another grain used for feeding livestock. It is used as a maize substitute because of its similar nutritional profile. Sorghum constitutes around 70% starch, which makes it an excellent energy source
